Airspace Designs and Operations for UAS Traffic Management at Low Altitude

As the usability of and demand for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have increased, it has become necessary to establish a UAS traffic management (UTM) system efficient UAV operations at low altitudes. To avoid collisions with ground obstacles, other UAVs, manned aircraft, in building safe path, UTM needs determine time space allocated each flight. Ideas discretizing structuring airspace various forms been proposed enhance efficiency operation improve congestion through effectual allocation. Additionally, methods allocating UAVs structured unit spaces studied literature. In this paper, structural designs that appeared related studies are classified into several types, their strengths weaknesses analyzed. The categorized three models: Air-Matrix, Air-Network, Air-Tube, analyzed according sub-structures temporal allocation methods. addition, quantitative analysis is conducted by re-categorizing combinations.
